Vibrant health is one of life’s greatest gifts. Many strive towards this state of high-level wellness. This is where our whole being of body, mind and spirit is in balance and harmony. Energy, peace and gratitude flow as we feel connected to the present moment. Many consumers are seeking ways to achieve this level of health with the use of integrative medicine, a melding of holistic and prevention modalities along with the crisis care of allopathic medicine when appropriate, in order to reach their vision of high level wellness.

What is your body-mind-soul system trying to tell you?

|

Body-Mind-Energy Balancing is the core of every holistic therapy.
It is based on the understanding that there is neither separation nor boundaries between body, mind and energy (soul).

Each and every organ and system has its own specific function, not only physical but emotional and spiritual as well. Happiness, health, satisfaction, knowledge and prosperity can not reach their full potential without the understanding and the balancing of the entire system.

Acid vs. alkaline: Acidity leads to all sickness and disease

|

Dr. Hugh A. Jenkins

The pH level (the acid- alkaline measurement) of our internal fluids affects every cell in our bodies. An alkaline pH of body fluids is healthy for the body cells. The issue is how to maintain a balance pH level for good health. Maintaining a critical balance of pH, electrolytes, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, hormones and hydration within the biological terrain (our internal environment) enables the body’s cells to perform all of their vital functions of maintaining life and health. The ideal level would be 10% acid and 90% alkaline. A chronically over acid pH corrodes body tissues. Loss of this balance over time contributes to the development of poor health and increased susceptibility to the effects of opportunistic organisms, including bacteria, viruses and fungi.

Spring Clean Your Mind

| |

Shauna Angel Blue

Here is a quick little meditation.

Note: The ocean is used in this meditation because of the sea salt and the gently action of the waves. The third eye is in between the eyebrows where the skull is the thinnest and the sunlight can move into the area of the pituitary gland. This gland is called ‘The Master Gland’ and regulates the secretion of the thyroid, adrenal and reproductive glands. It is located just beneath the hypothalamus in the middle of the brain. If you have a fear of drowning, you can replace the ocean water, with ocean air as the salt will still be in the air OR you can pretend you are a mermaid.

Cleansing with the Masters

| |

What did spiritual leaders such as Jesus, Moses, Gandhi, and Krishna have in common? They all preached the wonders of internal cleansing for purity of the mind, body and spirit. What did these wise men know about the value of internal cleansing? They knew that if we eliminated our toxins, our inner wisdom would invite a healing on all levels.

What is a toxin? A toxin is a substance that creates irritation or causes harmful effects in our bodies. Toxins usually enter through four access points. They can be absorbed through the skin, inhaled through the respiratory tract, ingested through the mouth into our gastrointestinal tract and created within us via unresolved thoughts, emotions and stress. This leaves us with symptoms from fatigue, arthritis, poor skin, bad breath, digestive ailments, chronic infections, overweight, mental and emotional imbalances, to more serious health conditions.

Can What you Think affect your HEALTH?

Dr. Helen Lee
All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think, we become.
~ Maharishi Mahesh Yogi

We’ve heard it before. Think positive, don’t be so negative. Innately we’ve known that this is a good habit to get into. Now science & research are proving just how important it is. Studies are now showing how powerful prayer is for a person who is ill. Any self improvement guru will always work on improving your ability to think positively in order to manifest what you want in life. Religions teach prayer and the power of positive thoughts. Why?

Healthy Mouth, Healthy Body

| | |

Raymond G. Hatland D.D.S.

Having a healthy mouth can be critically important for you to be successful at improving the health of your entire body. Besides the obvious threat that oral diseases has to your teeth, gums and your ability to chew food well, there are many chronic and degenerative disease processes throughout the body that can be greatly aggravated by unhealthy conditions in your mouth.

Most gum disease is a slow, usually painless and even symptom free bacterial infection that gradually destroys your gums and the bone that holds your teeth. Eventually if the disease process is not stopped the teeth become loose, sometimes painful and have to be extracted.

We know that sugar offers quick energy, helps metabolism and provides closure for “digestive processes.” But sugars can be addictive, like a drug or alcohol, offering a false energy lift that eventually lets you down lower than when you started. Here are some educational tips about America’s favorite sweetener….

The SuperSizing of America…our epidemic!

| |

Sharon M. Weinstein, MS, RN, CRNI, FAAN

The nation's scales are rising, and it is clear that obesity is a crisis! So what can we do about America's obesity epidemic other than avoid the doughnut shop, fast food, and take a walk each day?

There is a difference between obesity and overweight…many of us are on the fringes of each. According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), overweight is increased body weight that is at least 10 percent over a recommended weight level. These recommendations are based on a sampling of the US population or by body mass index (BMI), a calculation that measures weight relative to height. If we could all increase in height by about 4 inches, weight would not be such an issue! If not, a person with a BMI greater than 25 is overweight. Obesity is excess fat compared to lean body mass, or a body weight that is 30 percent over the ideal weight for a specific height.
